Install PHP under Redhat/CentOS

#: yum install php
#: yum install php-gd
#: yum install php-mysql
#: yum install php-zend-optimizer
#: yum install php-ioncube-loader
#: yum install php-xml <–for DOM support
#: yum install php-mbstring
#: yum install php-mcrypt

you may get permission deny error for zend after installation, go edit /etc/selinux/config file and set "SELINUX=disabled"
then restart server. once installed the php.ini file will be under /etc/php.ini

Upgrade php

#: yum update php
this will update php to latest version available there.
